Less than 10% of people in technical or executive roles in aerospace are women, a gender gap that's held steady for over 20 years. How does this lack of female representation affect outer space governance, policy, and priorities?

Layla Martin is a Harvard University theorist who coined the term Astrofeminism. Her groundbreaking work assesses the application of smart power in aerospace & defense, and how historically patriarchal and male-dominated organizational cultures affect the way we relate to space.

Join Dr. Eligar Sadeh Mara Cortona, and Layla Martin 6/23 at 11am EST for a discussion of astrofeminism and smart power in aerospace. Register below to receive the Zoom link!

Martin is a Featured Expert at Women's Media  Center, Women Also Know Stuff, and Women Also Know History; and is an active member of Women In Aerospace.  Martin founded She Rose Up in 2012 and has personally  funded 88 loans to women without access to traditional capital  (Q2,2020). Martin is a  former Creative Director in the International Relations department at  Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. While at Warner Bros., she oversaw 32 international offices and collaborated on many projects including the  Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings franchises.
